It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I am writing to endorse David as a person as well as his company. For the last 15 years I have been following his career and development in many different roles as a client, as a peer and as a friend. During this time, he has evolved into a distinguished Cloud guru where he has shared many mind-opening ideas and experiences with me on the topic of Cloud. I had the privilege of working with David Royer when we were part of a team of U.S. professionals chosen by Northwest Medical Teams International [http://www.medicalteams.org/about-us/mission-and-values] to do training of health professionals in China (Beijing and Chengdu) to diagnose and treat HIV infections. I found him to be a great asset to our team – articulate, informed, and very professional at all times. His knowledge of health systems and health information technology [HIT] were critical components of our ability to help the Chinese understand what is necessary to deal with an emerging health threat in their vast population. While their health system is very different that ours in the U.S., the problems posed are similar when dealing with a deadly infectious disease. David brought expertise in data collection, management, and security that no one else on our team had, and made considerable contributions to our efforts to help the Chinese deal with this public health challenge. I have had ongoing association with David since our trip to China in 2008, and am aware of the scope of his work internationally and success in his various ventures.
I can recommend David with enthusiasm and without reservation – he has exceptional interpersonal skills, is sensitive to cultural issues, and is a man of unquestionable integrity. And in addition, he is a lot of fun to be around (an important trait when working in groups of diverse people).

We have been fortunate to have collaborated with Royer Systems Integration over the past several years during which they have been an active and successful training partner. Their president, David Royer, most recently acted as the primary author of the Cloud Capacity Specialist course modules, contributing his deep subject matter expertise in cloud computing in the development of these official Arcitura courses. I had the pleasure of taking a cloud architect course instructed by David. It was one of the best classes I’ve participated in. David was very knowledgeable on the subject matter and was able to explain the topics to those in the class that weren’t that technical. He has been accessible via email for various questions after we’ve finished with the class. I have to give him all the credit for my certifications; without his advice and expertise, I have no idea how I would’ve passed those five exams. (Whew!)

I have a great respect considering the knowledge and experience of David in so many different areas including technical knowledge but also how to describe them in terms of value to the business. I am currently involved in a cloud project where I had the opportunity to see how much valuable was what I have learned with David in the EMC Cloud Architecture trainings. The essence of our success was to know previously the needs to think in terms of business, and thinking in cloud environments like a product to be offered to the business unities meeting their needs and avoiding a more technical approach.

I had the pleasure to work with David while I was in EMC in a very important project in Brazil and I must say I was impressed because of his true professionalism, his leadership and determination. In addition, David showed evidence of a great strategic mind and was able to articulate very well how to execute his plans and back them up with a strong track record of over-achievement. David is a talented leader and trusted partner who excels at working across organizations and companies to get things done. He is always on the cutting edge of the next wave in technology and I am constantly amazed at his high enthusiasm for what seems like practically everything under the sun, and his endless stream of creative ideas for new applications, services and platforms. I met David few years ago, while he was delivering a 1-day seminar on Cloud
and IT Transformation to an executive audience for a major bank in Brazil.
I was impressed with his ability to simplify such complex content in a
way that could be understood by everyone in the audience. I was even more
impressed when I found out he was not a Brazilian native as he speaks
Portuguese with no accent. David’s presentation supported our team on a large deal to this bank as they were able to understand the strategic value of
Cloud to their business.

After a few coffees we found out we had a lot in common, as I am a
Business Director for Cloud at EMC. And since then, we have developed a
very good friendship where I have the opportunity to listen from his
expertise whenever we meet.

Last year David engaged with us on a very strategical consulting deal at a large
Telco in Brazil, who were going to market with public cloud offerings, but
were not clear on how to setup their Cloud business and offerings in the
public market. David wrote a very compelling business plan, showing the
customer what had to be done in order to succeed and most importantly, how
to compete against major and, at the time, much more efficient players in
the market. As a result of this work, the customer was able to understand
the various threats and opportunities that must be addressed while
building public cloud offerings. David’s work has had a great impact on
the Go-to-Market strategies and its execution in the Brazilian cloud market.

David is much more than a mentor to me, he is an advisor with a deep knowledge of the technical and business aspects of IT in general and of Cloud Computing in particular. He is a professional gifted with the skill to transmit his knowledge to others, making even the more complex subject to seem easy to understand. But he is not just a theoretical, he knows exactly how to apply his knowledge and has a huge field experience. I had the opportunity to be his student and it widened my horizons. In addition David has a strong ability to lead and to execute, is highly motivated and committed with results, and he doesn’t rest until all his students and co-workers have accomplished their objectives. If it wasn’t enough he is also a great person and a very good friend. It was a pleasure to meet David, and I expect to have the opportunity to work more times with him.

I highly recommend David Royer for his cloud consulting services as his work proved to be a key differentiator in our cloud implementation at DataPrev. When we initially launched our Cloud initiative, our primary focus was on building a robust cloud infrastructure, based on its technological merits, following time-proven principles in traditional IT. David’s consulting work was fundamental in changing our understanding of Cloud, helping us to shift from traditional IT models to becoming an internal Cloud Services Provider (CSP). During his engagement with our company, he provided us with insight on how to design and offer cloud services, within our service catalog, that were truly aligned to our customers’ requirements and business outcomes helping us to achieve optimal utilization of our IT resources, cost-reduction and business agility.

I first met David Royer during the development of the Cloud computing project at Sicoob Confederation. Sicoob is the largest cooperative financial system in Brazil and had intended to industrialize their IT infrastructure by building a private cloud that could improve the quality of services provided for customers and that would provide greater flexibility in the delivery of services as well as resources provisioning.

At that time, David Royer helped us on staff training and also at the definition the process of business and IT transformation, making the project viable.

David is the best workshop instructor I have ever had. His ability to teach material in a way that relates to his students’ various backgrounds is remarkable. I recently took the Cloud Architect’s class with him and can say that I feel very comfortable when I take the exam due to David’s workshop. The way he ties together business and tech in his lectures made the class extremely interesting and practical. David is also very approachable, polite, and friendly. David was a great instructor for the Cloud architecture training course that I attended in Dallas. David has a lot of experience in IT and Cloud issues and is able to leverage this as he explains key concepts with real world examples. David was willing and able to tune the course material to our specific areas of interest, dive deep into some key discussion, and answer all of our questions.

The 5-day Cloud Architect Course with David flew by! Although we covered quite a bit of coursework during that time, I found that the material and terminologies David presented were organized and well absorbed by the end.
